Gorillas are the Most terrestrial of the Great apes, spending over 90% of their time on the ground. They move quadrupedically over all fours, but ca stand upright for short periods, particularly to reach food plants or as part of a chest beating sequence. Gorillas are primarily vegetarians, although some insects and mineral soil are eaten, and there have been several instances of dead infants being consumed by other group members.
